If you would like to learn more about child anxiety and available treatments on your own, below are a few recommended books and websites, as well as some exciting info about a resource I’m working on…
DareDecks
Hey you! Yeah you. Know somebody who is afraid sometimes? Who avoids fun stuff because worry convinces them it’s a totally bad idea and will all go terribly horribly wrong? Little fear gremlins pull the fire alarm in their body and get their heart racing, blood pumping, and that little “OH NO” siren wailing? Help is on the way.
I’m working on a resource to help kids and adults alike face their fears and do what matters… introducing the DareDeck.
A DareDeck is a deck of cards designed to help people take manageable steps toward tackling a fear. Each deck is a series of confidence-building Dares tailored to a specific area, such as social situations, school, performance… you name it. Those of us in the fear-shrinking business call these Bravery Challenges, Get-Used-To-It Practice, or Exposure, and they are the active ingredient in the treatment of anxiety.
Amazing, right? You want this right-now-ASAP-absolutely-this-second, right? Hang in there- DareDecks are still in development, but if you are interested in more information or would like to be notified when they are released into The Wild, please fill out the form below.
